Former Old Marketplace is the true historical heart of the capital. All around it, there are beautiful burgher houses of various building styles, such as the Štorch's House, noble palaces (Kinsky), and magnificent churches (Church of Saint Nicholas). The symbols of the square include the execution site of 27 Czech nobles and the monument of Master Jan Hus, but crowds of tourists are more attracted by the Old Town Hall with an Astronomical Clock. The unmistakable look is given to the whole area by the Church of the Mother of God before Týn.
